How To get Rid Of Ants
Ants! They are everywhere, the kitchen and bathrooms. Do you know how to get rid of ants? This question can be a nightmare to homeowners and renters alike. What are the options do you have to take care of these ants once and for all.
Option 1 is pickup the phone and your wallet and let a pest control professional do the work.
Option 2 DO NOTHING. You could just wait it out and see if they will leave on their own or just let the ants run the house. (I wander if you could train them to dust and fix dinner?).
Option 3 Do-it-yourself. It may look like a challenge but after finding out a few tricks, getting rid of ants can be quite rewarding.
There are really only three steps that can help solve your infestation of ants.
1. Identification of the type of ant. How do I ID an ant that I can barely see?\" you ask. Well... Make it larger, right. If you want to go all out, pickup a 50X or 100X lighted magnifier (Around $10) at Radio Shack or borrow a magnifying glass or something. Determine what type of ant that you have. Use the internet Google Images can be a useful tool for this.
2. Identifying the type of ant may clue you in on where to find the source of ant activity. If you can find this area it helps with the next step, killing the Ants.
3. Treatment. You will need to go to the store and see what you can get off the shelf. I would probably find a home improvement store they tend to have a better selection of pest control items. Things you can try are sprays (probably what you want to try last if nothing else works). Baits (granules, gel, and liquid) can be your best bet on a longer term solution. They do take a little longer to work. Sealing up a crack where ants are entering can also be a form of treatment. The challenge of getting rid of ants can just take a few steps. And it can be very rewarding and a little easier on the pocket book if you can do-it-yourself.
