Customer Review: Disappointed
I am somewhat disappointed in this version. I have been buying this product every year since 2003 except for 2007 when I couldn’t find a copy. I don’t notice very much of a difference between this versions information and the 2006, I don’t see that many new roads in areas that I know have new roads (since 2006). This version has more security features, read that as only being able to load it on 2 computers, takes a LOT longer to load. Takes a long time to come up when you want to use the program. I prefer using the 2006 that I have on the companies laptop.
Customer Review: Activation is a problem
I have several older versions of Streets ending in 2006, and the new activation scheme is a real killer for me. It is far easier to use Google (for free) and a Garmin (with custom poi addins). Save your money.

Patchwork: Stories from the Dining Table
When women from different parts of the world get together around a dining table what do they do? They tell stories. Each person sparks memories and imagination in the others until experience and invention are stitched into a rich patchwork. Join the Dining Table Writers; Vim, Urmilla, Rose, Marlene, Ki, Isabelle and Denise with their tales of a right of passage in traditional Sri Lanka, the art of making dahi in rural India and mysterious events in New Zealand. Uncover family secrets in a wardrobe in Mexico. Find out how a marriage is saved by timely advice from a Filipino nun, how living with the man you love in Lyon is quite a different matter from being a bride in rural Zimbabwe, and what one Oxford student came up against when seeking to visit the capital of seventeenth century Persia.
Each story in this collection represents a highly individual interpretation of a situation or relationship where one culture bumps into another and the world tilts, if ever so slightly.
Patchwork is the result of collaboration by seven writers and the proceeds will go to the Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund, a charity which awards grants to women from developing countries.

Customer Review: Book Clubs take Note
This book is a great read with many opportunities for engaging discussions. I highly recommend for book reading groups. After reading half way through, I wondered…why not title it “Rites of Passage?” Each author has crystallized a moment in time and place the reader can appreciate, if not identify with. For travelers and for readers interested in women’s issues … these are human issues. A day or so after reading the stories, I would recall an image or passage with pleasure. This is, to me, an indication of a good book.
Customer Review: A Good Gift
I liked this book very much for several reasons. I have spent a good part of my life abroad and could relate to the stories about what it is like to be in an unfamiliar culture. Likewise, the stories touch on feelings everyone has experienced at one time or another. Who hasn’t felt excited, frightened or lonely at the prospect of change? I have sent a copy to my 16 year old niece who has not travelled much but has a real interest in the world outside her own.The theme of transition and it’s challenges in this book make it an appropriate one to pass on to others.
