With a total weight of 5.1 ounces and slim measurements of 3.87 x 2.91 x 0.87 inches (WxHxD), the n?vi 350 is just right for the pocket or purse. A bright, 64,000-color display dominates the front of the device and a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels means that there’s plenty of room for displaying map data and other elements of the device’s interface. An SD memory card slot is provided for expansion software, such as a points of interest database, media files and electronic guides (see below). The flip-up antenna includes an MCX-type connector for connecting the unit to an external GPS antenna. Meanwhile, a powerful built-in speaker resides on the back of device. A built-in lithium ion battery will give you for to eight hours of battery life, depending on use. In addition to an AC charger, the unit also ships with a 12-volt power adapter for vehicle charging, as well as a windshield suction cup mount.
Fortunately, Garmin has made it easy to interface with the n?vi 350’s 700 megabytes of onboard memory, thanks to “plug-and-play” USB mass storage support. Just plug the device into your computer’s USB port and you’ve got instantaneous access to all the audio books, music, photos, supplemental maps and other data on the n?vi 350’s internal and SD card memory.
Navigation
The n?vi 350 is first and foremost a personal GPS device. Wherever you go — in your car or on foot– the device offers extremely accurate position data, thanks to a high-sensitivity integrated GPS receiver by SiRF and WAAS-enabled, 12-satellite reception. Combined with detailed maps of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico the n?vi 350 provides automatic routing, turn-by-turn voice directions, and touchscreen control– making it easy to find your way anywhere. Plus, the unique “text-to-speech” feature calls out turns by street name, and you can choose from either 2D or 3D mapping perspectives when you’re viewing your route on the display. Additionally, the n?vi 350 is compatible with Garmin’s GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver*, which allows users to avoid traffic tie-ups by simply pushing a button that will calculate a new route.
As mentioned, the n?vi 350 comes packed with mapping data for North America, but you can can also load up your custom points of interest. Set up proximity alerts for school zones, safety cameras, and more using Garmin’s free POI (points of interest) loader program (available from garmin.com).
Important note about map updates: Due to our high volume of sales, almost every Garmin portable GPS navigator sold by Amazon.com will come with the most recent map version. If you ever do need a map update, you can purchase one from Amazon.com at our Garmin Store.
The device automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. |
Tools for the Journey
Navigation is just part of the journey, and the n?vi 350 is one of the first devices to recognize that. The built-in “Travel Kit” offers an MP3 player, an audio book player from Audible.com, a jpeg-format picture viewer, a world travel clock with time zones, a currency converter, a measurement converter, and a calculator.
In addition to the included travel tools, additional software add-ons are available, such as the Garmin Language Guide, with data provided by Oxford University Press. This software suite contains a multilingual word bank, phrase bank, and five bilingual dictionaries. The multilingual word bank and phrase bank supports nine languages and dialects, including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. Now you can look up and translate more than 17,000 words or 20,000 phrases per language — right in the palm of your hand. Through the unit’s text-to-speech interface, users can get a spoken pronunciation of each entry in the word bank, along with gender and part of speech information.
Another useful add-on software package, the Garmin Travel Guide, is loaded with information provided by Marco Polo. These guides put in-depth travel information such as reviews and recommendations for restaurants, tourist attractions, and more at your fingertips. The software allows you to navigate to an address or search points of interest– places like hotels, restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions. The n?vi 350 automatically calculates the fastest route and provides voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions along the way. The unit also audibly announces the name of upcoming streets– letting you keep your eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic and tricky roadways. And if you stray off course, the n?vi 350 automatically calculates the quickest way to get back on track.
*Traffic services available only in select cities where RDS-TMC coverage exists. Requires the GTM 10 FM TMC traffic receiver and subscription fee to enable traffic capability.

Customer Review: Best Money I ever spent
I bought myself the Garmin Nuvi 350 In December. I have to say this tiny little thing is absolutly amazing. It brings you door to door. It tells you the exits & whether they are on the right or left. I gives you the names of the streets you have to turn on. You follow a purple line Then when its time to turn it shows a white line. The little vehicle on the screen is exactly were you are, It’s fool proof. If you miss an exit it recalculates imediatly and brings you back. I live in Brooklyn, we had to get to Yankee stadium. Instead of putting in the adress I put in the cross streets that we had to park at. It brough me right there. My brother whos been to Yankee stadium so many times, was at the wrong parking lot!!! He called me to give him directions on how to get to where I was!!! So i went and bought him one for his birthday. If you have kids and there complaining they are STARVING all you have to do is go to food and pick fast food, It takes you to the nearest mcdonalds or what ever it is they want, Nomore stoping to ask for directions when your lost. and ladies, we all know what a drag it is to have to get the kids out of the car to go into a gas station in the middle of a bunch of truckers resting. It brings you to gas stations, ATMs, food, parks, Definitly recommended for anyone to own. its easy & its small enough to carry in your pocketbook.
Customer Review: Outstanding device
This is my second one. I paid ~$450 a bit over a year ago when I bought one for my wife. This second one is for me and Amazon had it for only $252! The text-to-speech is invaluable and one of the main reasons I bought this same model again.

12 O’Clock High
After the stunning defeat of the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain, Germany turns its mighty war machine towards Russia with hopes of defeating the great empire. Much to Hitler’s dismay, his troops are held at bay by both an unforgiving winter and the stubborn battle-hardened Red Army. The tides of war begin to turn against the Reich, and Germany must suddenly scramble to maintain the strong industrial complex that has helped it reign supreme. Beginning in 1943, Allied air forces conducted one of the most aggressive, relentless, and bloody air campaigns in the history of warfare. TalonSoft’s 12 O’ Clock High: Bombing the Reich takes you there! Experience the greatest air war in history! Re-created by Gary Grigsby and Keith Brors, legendary designers of TalonSoft’s critically acclaimed Battle of Britain and SSI’s Steel Panthers, TalonSoft’s 12 O’ Clock High: Bombing the Reich puts you in the commander’s chair.

Customer Review: Understanding the Air War in WW II
12 O’Clock High by Talonsoft is quite simply the best strategic presentation of the war in the air, 1943-45, ever made for computer games. The richness of detail–for playing either the Allies or the Axis–is simply stunning. Nothing compares in the genre. It is, in fact, its biggest curse as well as triumph: to play the long campaign games the length and intricacy will put off the casual wargamer or “shoot-em-up” seeker. The multitude of factors faced by the high command of each side are in the game. To win you must come to understand the air war as it was, if simplified even here for the fussy historian. For the enthusiast it presents delicious detail and very difficult problems. (This game could be a required course for aspiring business executives in the results of planning.) Improvements could be made. It could be faster. More, rather than less detail would be better. But it’s the best there is.
Customer Review: Good for the hardcore sim fan
Basically, this is a good game for the real hardcore war strategy fan. If you’re into more of the “shoot-’em-up, ninja” garbage, then this is definitely not the game for you. The pluses of the game are as follows: very detailed, follows closely to historical detail, and the interface is fairly easy to figure out. On the minus side, it is VERY VERY LONG!!! As mentioned in some of the other reviews, the full campaign takes forever. In fact, if you play it every night for an hour, it will still take you a full month or more to finish the game!! Also, I think the interface could have been a little more user friendly than it is. Again, if you really like historical strategy sims, this isn’t a bad choice. But you better either have lots of patience or lots of timeon your hands to play it.
ACCUSPLIT Pro Survivor - A601X Stopwatch, Cum Split, Clock, Extra Large Display
The Accusplit Survivor A601X Stopwatch is the best value PE stopwatch on the market. With the exclusive Accusplit ‘X’ case design and the million-cycle switch buttons, this is the most durable and popular stopwatch for basic timing needs. The million-cycle no-fail switches are an Accusplit exclusive and are ergonomically designed for maximum performance and ease of use. They snap instead of beep and have been tested for over a million cycles without failure.
The A601X operates on the Watch Company Operating System (WOS 2.5) used by most watch manufacturers, which employs a two-button system. The right button is used for start and stop, the left for split and release. The A601X stopwatch features cumulative-split timing. The cumulative (CUM) time is the capture of elapsed time to current event and consists of all splits beginning to end. The split time is the interval of time measured from the start of the timing to the next pause of time.
The A601X also features the one-button start-split-split system where the first split is first place, the second split is second place, and it shows a one-two fast finish. This stopwatch is available in five solid and translucent ring colors, has a 1.5-year battery life, and has a magnum extra-large digital display for exceptionally easy reading. The A601X is water resistant up to 30-meters and includes time, date, and alarm functions, making it a great low-cost stopwatch for basic timing needs.
Customer Review: Cronometro
Customer Review: Great display, tactile-feedback buttons, easy to use. Non-standard battery, poor design on back cover. Minimal instructions.
Overall, this is a very good product. It is easy to use and looks to be well made and reliable. I got it in yellow so it would stand out. I like the color. I bought it to time tasks on the computer, such how long it takes Windows to reboot (a calendar might be more appropriate), so I won’t be timing any track meets. But now that I have it, I just might time the kids in the pool or on their bikes. As others have said, the buttons have a positive, tactile feedback, like a good keyboard. You will know for sure whether you pushed them. No accidental resets or failure to get the time. The display is large enough for almost anyone to read without glasses. It’s not backlit, so you need enough ambient light, but this should normally be the case. I do have a few complaints. It uses a non-standard battery. By that I mean, not one that I normally stock (AAA or AA). The instructions claim that the battery will last 5 years. I don’t know if a AA or AAA would be less durable. If I needed to depend on this for a meet, I would have a second battery on hand. The design of the back cover is not so good. It’s held on by 6 small Phillips screws. This seems like a lot, but maybe that’s to provide moisture resistance. Opening the cover is tricky and seems too likely to damage the button mechanism. They mounted part of the button mechanism on the inside top of the back cover. The three buttons have plastic tabs that extend down about 3/4 of an inch into this mechanism. It would be very easy to pull too hard on the top of the back cover and bend or break these tabs. When I started to remove it, it seemed stuck at the top, so I lifted the bottom first and it slid out. This is not mentioned in the instructions. A much better design would be to have the back cover only open over the bottom half where the battery is. The back cover must also be removed to remove or insert the lanyard. I would prefer a loop through which the lanyard could be threaded. I bet the moisture resistance is reduced, not to mention the threads in the case where the screws go, every time the back cover is removed. It does not have any sleep / power save function, so the LEDs are visible all the time. I don’t know if this shortens battery life much. The instructions are minimal — just a piece of cardboard that doubles as the product label. On the side panel, it says “Save Storage Case” and it shows a picture of a little case partway open. My watch did not come with a case and there is no way to reuse the plastic packaging bubble as a case. I would suggest that they add a couple of solar cells. I have a cheap calculator from Office Depot that has four small (1″ by .25″) solar cells. I believe there is also a battery, but the case does not even open to replace it. I have had it 10-12 years and it is still working. This stopwatch is not perfect, but it’s pretty good.
