Brita Water Pitcher Replacement Filter

Brita Water Pitcher Replacement Filter
Customer Review: Great value!
Replacement filters for my Brita pitcher always seem to be too expensive, but this three pack is a great deal even compared to the larger filter packs. The filters make my tap water taste great and it’s much easier than buying bottled water. I recommend these filters.

Customer Review: 10-pack always a better deal than the 3-pack
For those who gave up bottled water but want better taste than tap, Brita filtered water is a good option. In most places the 3-packs are way overpriced and the 10-packs are hard to find. Costco carries them but otherwise I have only found them online. As each one should be replaced in 2 months, this is nearly 2 years worth of filters. If you have a friend who also uses Brita, get the 10-pack and split the cost. (The box contains 2 boxes of 5 filters each, so there isn’t even any fooling around with opening packaging). Gives each person 1 year’s worth of filters at a decent per-filter price.

p.s. My only beef with Brita (Clorox-owned now)is that the filters are not recyclable. Supposedly the filters the company sells in Europe have been modified to be recyclable. They should do that here too.

Star Trek - The Animated Series, Vol. 11: How Sharper Than A Serpent’s Tooth/ The Counter-Clock Incident
List Price: $12.95
Used Price: $2.84
Customer Review: Excellent first episode, very weak second
The first story is one of the best in the animated series. An alien probe arrives at Earth, sends a message back into space and then self-destructs. The Enterprise is tasked to follow the path of the message to determine who the recipient is. They encounter Kukulkan, an ancient Mayan god. He has waited centuries to be summoned back to Earth and he is angered at not getting the attention that he feels he deserves. He tests the members of the Enterprise crew and they pass. Kirk and group also free some other creatures held by Kukulkan and during the melee Kirk risks his life to save Kukulkan, demonstrating that he is in no way a god. Although this is one more instance of the well-worn ancient astronauts theme, it is so well done that it would have made an excellent Star Trek movie. The second story is much weaker. The Enterprise is pursuing another ship and they are pulled through a supernova to another universe where time moves backwards. All the members of the crew start getting younger, so even though they determine a way to get back, they growing youth of the crew leaves them dysfunctional. Fortunately, the Enterprise was carrying two elderly passengers who are experienced Star Fleet officers. They take command when Kirk and Spock are incapacitated and guide the Enterprise back to normal space. The members of the Enterprise crew are then passed through the transporter and restored to their previous state. The problem I have with this is that if the transporter were capable of acting as a “fountain of youth” then everyone would use it on a regular basis. There would be no aging, valued officers would be kept in their prime and the world would stagnate. This obviously has not happened, so the episode suffers from a major logical flaw. Furthermore, since some of the Enterprise crew would have de-aged beyond their birth, to get them back, the transporter would have had to recreate them from their stored patterns. This would have literally been creating people from nothing, a plot

Customer Review: Difficult to figure out, and very poor customer service
I needed a second thermometer to work with my current system. I spent a week trying to contact Oregon Scientific’s customer service department, where I was told to leave a message but my calls were never returned. I finally figured out on my own that this model would work with my current sensors, however, it is not easy to use, and the buttons are on the side so that each time you move the sensor you change a setting. My main complaint is with Oergon Scientific’s customer service. This is the last time I will purchase from Oregon Scientific.
Customer Review: Wireless weather station
If you live in a warm weather climate, this is probably a good product. For those of us who live in the northern part of the country however, it doesn’t stand the test. To be fair, it states in the directions that alkaline batteries will likely freeze below 20 degrees, but of course you need to purchase the product to find this out. The consumer has the option of purchasing lithium batteries, but they are harder to find. I would recommend this product
